TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A loophole in Florida’s sexual offender registration law would be closed under a Senate bill unanimously passed Thursday in response to a child molester who didn’t have to register because he didn’t pay a court-ordered fine.
A judge ruled last year that Ray La Vel James of Tampa, who spent 12 years in prison after being convicted of molesting two girls at a public pool, didn’t have to register as a sex offender because the law states registration isn’t required until a sentence is completed — and he hadn’t paid of a $10,000 fine that was part of his sentence.
“This man is the very definition of someone who should and must be on the sex offender registry and subject to things like community monitoring and residency restrictions, but because of this loophole, he could be living right next to a community pool,” said Democratic Sen. Lauren Book, the bill’s sponsor.
One case…whole new law for millions of people.
Closed loophole? Or wasteful logic…
Can we close the loophole of Ron and Lauren Book’s power over the state of Florida? Only thing she cares about is going after registrants.
Democratic Sen. Lauren Book
Why doesn’t it surprise me to see her name related to this Bill?
Spoder we all talk about loopholes but who ever talks about “Christian loopholes” in much of these ordeals or is it a money talk question type angle. I have even mentioned in certain ways this very thing to my new PO and I don’t even know him to understand his protect and serve understanding methods. Like my sister points out to me.. Their only doing their job. If thats how one would get paid one wouldn’t have the job.
Course he has a master or who is looping others in the cookie jar type ordeal scandel today that is compounding many of these registry ordeals today. In other words that police officer, judge, PO have a master also and its not that police or judge or that investagor or what is reckless endangerment by vain character of police force to add to this topic. Isn’t Jesus Christ in authority or should we all go back to Egypt.
